Statement from the PBC Foundation and Friends of the PBC Foundation

The PBC Foundation and Friends of the PBC Foundation have recently become aware of an organisation using the name “PBC Awareness”.

For clarity, PBC Awareness is not affiliated with, connected to, or authorised by either the PBC Foundation or Friends of the PBC Foundation.

PBC Awareness does not have permission to use the name, logo, branding or intellectual property of the PBC Foundation or Friends of the PBC Foundation and does not represent either organisation in any capacity.

Earlier this year, a governance matter concerning a member of the Friends of the PBC Foundation board was addressed by the Friends board in accordance with its bylaws. That individual is no longer a member of the Friends board and is not authorised to act on behalf of Friends of the PBC Foundation.

Organisations and partners are encouraged to verify affiliations directly with the PBC Foundation or Friends of the PBC Foundation before assuming any relationship or endorsement.

Friends of the PBC Foundation remains an independent organisation working in partnership with the PBC Foundation to support people affected by Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC). That work continues.

While we respect the right of others to pursue their own initiatives, PBC Awareness has no connection with the PBC Foundation or Friends of the PBC Foundation.

Our focus remains on supporting people living with PBC and advancing awareness, care and research in partnership with our community and supporters.

We thank our supporters, partners and the wider PBC community for their continued trust.
